Kobie Lofton

My Story

My name is Kobie Lofton, and I am from Shreveport, Louisiana. I am recent graduate of Xavier University in New Orleans, LA where I earned my Bachelor's of Science degree in Sales and Marketing. During my time as a Xavier student, I met Larry Irvin, CEO of Brothers Empowered to Teach. He recruited me to be a fellow within in his organization to help increase the less than 2% of black male teachers in the classroom. As a BE2T fellow I appreciated the Cipher professional development, working with young kids in schools and participating in fellowship retreats. Overall, the organization has not only taught me the importance of black male representation in classrooms, but also the impact we have on the youth at large.
